There’s nothing worse than appliance breakdowns and expensive energy bills. This season, we’d like to encourage our customers to be proactive and make home maintenance check-ups a priority!
By investing a few minutes each day attending to your home maintenance plan, you can help prevent numerous household emergencies and save money on your bills while doing so. Here are a few tips to get you started:
- Stay in control of your home’s humidity level: By staying in control of your home’s humidity level, you can avoid damages caused by levels being too low or too high. If your home has an outdated thermostat, it is recommended to replace it with a new Wi-Fi thermostat to help regulate the humidity and temperature in your home year-round.
- Inspect your home for energy-wasters: Power strips and electronics use electricity when plugged in, regardless of whether they are in use or not. Be sure to unplug your electronics and turn off your power strips when they are not being used. Save money and energy by remembering ‘if it’s plugged in, it’s consuming energy!’
- Out with the old, and in with the new: Have you inspected your air filters recently? While the task is simple, it is often forgotten about. Filthy air filters do not function properly and can lead to inconvenient breakdowns of your home’s heating and air conditioning system. Be sure to replace your air filters regularly to prevent built up dirt and improve the quality and circulation of your indoor air.
