On Saturday, April 25, RighTime Home Services, a residential heating and air conditioning company serving Inland Empire and Los Angeles, and its partner, the Temecula Education Foundation (TEF), announced the winners of the 2015 Think Green Contest. The third annual Think Green Contest encourages students in the Temecula Valley Unified School District, from kindergarten to 12th grade, to submit an energy saving idea in the form of an essay, drawing, model, video or any other artistic medium. The students demonstrated excellent energy-saving ideas for a chance to win cash prizes up to $500.
The RighTime Home Services Inland Empire team wants to extend a huge congratulations to the winners!
- First place high school winner, Alexander Choi, a student at Temecula Preparatory School, was awarded $500. His essay discussed the advancement of engineered bioluminescence to reduce the overall consumption of electricity and energy.
- First place middle school winner, Matthew Schork, a student at Margarita Middle School, was awarded $300. His presentation consisted of the use and effectiveness of “Green Hotels” for the community and energy grid.
- First place elementary school winner, Justin Magallanes, a student at Tony Tobin Elementary, was awarded $200 for his cartoon of how recycling trucks can use removable solar panels to power vehicles and reduce smog and gas consumption.
In addition, RighTime Home Services donated $1,000 to the Temecula Education Foundation to support their ongoing efforts to provide valuable opportunities to the students of Temecula. RighTime is honored to partner with the Temecula Education Foundation as they work to raise awareness of energy conservation in the community.
